H.E. Dr Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada
Head of ACAA- Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority
H.E. Dr Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada began his aviation career in 2013, when he was appointed as Deputy of Policy and Planning at Afghanistan. Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) where he was instrumental in enhancing the development of the policies, laws and regulations of Afghanistan’s civil aviation throughout the various ministries responsible for implementing the countries aviation laws.
Dr Wafayezada was appointed as Director General of the ACAA where he has contributed immensely to overseeing the discussions, negotiations and agreements to expand Afghanistan’s aviation footprint around the country. He has been instrumental in guiding the ACAA to enable it to expand its infrastructures and technologies to make passengers visits to the country a wonderful experience.
Prior to joining the ACAA, Dr Wafayezada held high profile positions as a lecturer and several leadership roles in Non-Government Organisations. His experience and knowledge has helped him to steer the ACAA into being able to highlight four (4) high profile projects which will enhance Afghanistans capability to expand its commercial opportunities.
Dr Qasim Wafayezad received his doctorate in International Relations from Kanazawa University, Japan. His research focus has been on ethnic politics, democratization and peacebuilding in post-conflict multi-ethnic societies. As practitioner, he was expert of social and cultural affairs within Secretariat of the Minister's Council of Afghanistan.
